new convenient way of Flash on Firefox x86_64
to tips for using the ZDF media library on Linux, I recently found an amazing note. There is described how using a program nsplugwrapper on a 64-bit Firefox to use the 32-bit Flash plugin from Adope can. The description of which related to SUSE, but I've tried it and it works fine! Here's my description:
Download the 32-bit Flash plugin and install it. You can get it here as .
following RPM packages for Fedora 7 at RPM PBone download (enter in the search field):
- nspluginwrapper.x86_64
- nspluginwrapper-i386.x86_64
Then using "rpm-ivh nswrapper * "install it as ROOT. Although there are error messages that various ELF formats would not vote, but you can safely ignore, as this refers to the 64-bit installed on your Firefox plugins and should ultimately not be served by nspluginwrapper .
If you firefox now new start, you can use "about: plugins" to see in the address bar that the nsplugin and the Flash plug-in is active. Unfortunately I have not found repository for Fedora 7, where the packages can be found. So they have to be currently updated manually.
